Mosquito Gin botanicals

Mosquito Gin botanicals

Mosquito Gin botanicals

First week of selling the Mosquito gin and we have been very pleased with the feed back. So we thought we would give some more detail, about how we have made it and what botanicals we have used.

Our serve suggestion for a G&T is to keep it simple. A slice of lemon or throw in some Blueberries as well, or just blueberries to pull out the fruity notes from the gin. Use a Fevertree Mediterranean tonic and plenty of ice.

The list of botanicals are as follows:

Juniper, Coriander, Angelica, Lemon Zest, Orange Zest, Orris Root, Cassia, Licorice, Sage, Caraway, Wild-blueberry, Grains of Paradise

Spruce needles

In time where single flavour gin's seem to be all the rage. We have gone in the other direction influenced by our historical past! We have kept to a core of classic gin botanicals. Increased the juniper and distilled the juniper in two different ways which pairs perfectly with the spruce needles from Penn Woods which have quite a piney citrusy flavour. We have reduced the coriander and angelica content which softens the flavor. Adding Sage and Caraway adds some herbal complexity. The wild blueberries are from Sweden and have a stronger flavour than their American cousins which you find in most supermarkets. This adds the fruit note to complete the flavour profile. If you have bought a bottle enjoy, if not give it a try whilst we still have it.
